ahhh i can’t believe we’re celebrating so soon!! i’m beyond grateful to everyone who’s supported my work and stuck around long enough to watch me grow as a writer!! and hopefully i’ll continue to grow 🫡 when i started this blog last year, i never thought it would grow to this size, so it feels like i’ve achieved so much already

i’ve thought a few times in the last couple of months how happy i am with what i have on tumblr, talking to so many nice people, and others coming back to chat with me, the nicest mutuals— really it makes me so happy and you all never fail to make me smile.

Hey Aerie! I am again very torn about who I want bc on the one hand there is Mafia Font with the delicious Andrew/Kevin/Jean/Neil dilemma (ahhh) and on the other hand is Vampdrew who is a vampire (!) and is so close before hunting and eating Neil and then there is MerRoadtrip and they just met and Andrew is awesome and Arsonist Neil is so wholesome right now, sprinkelt (is this a word?) with pain and my beloved Angel Neil and the angst there... Oh that got long, upsi. Anyhow I thought about it and I want Vampdrew again pretty please? I hope this week is kinder to you than the last! Ily 🧡

WIP Wednesday (6/26) | Vampire Andrew AU (Part 147)

Neil has just carried Matt’s end table into the dorm when a sudden burst of harsh music startles him into dropping it. The clunky table crashes on the floor, millimeters from his toes, and Matt turns to look at him. “You good, man?”

Neil clears his throat. “Yeah. Just… What the hell is that?”

“Oh,” Matt lets out a sigh and rolls his eyes. “One of the Minyards I’m sure. They love playing their garbage loud like that. No one else lives in this building, you know. No reason to be considerate at all.”

“You don’t like them.” Neil says, picking up the table to put it on its legs. Once it’s fixed, he finds Matt giving him a look. 

“They’re… Weird.” He says with a shrug. “Andrew never speaks, but when he does it’s unrelated to anything anyone’s talking about. Aaron… just stays stuck to his side for the most part. Nicky is the same. The three of them are like Velcro. And then Kevin got here in December and stuck himself to them too.”

That’s a weird assessment, Neil thinks. He’s been in constant company with the four of them for the past few weeks. The weirdest thing about them, he thought, was Andrew’s staring problem. And Nicky’s fashion sense, but that’s neither here nor there.

what is broken earth is it a book << needs book recs

broken earth is a trilogy of sci-fi fantasy books written by nk jemisin. the series is a favorite of mine!! the order goes: fifth season -> the obelisk gate -> stone sky

this is the synopsis of the first book as written on the authors website: "Three terrible things happen in a single day. Essun, a woman living an ordinary life in a small town, comes home to find that her husband has brutally murdered their son and kidnapped their daughter. its an extremely beautifully written series with incredible worldbuilding but PLEASE please please heed the cws going into it because it also deals with very heavy topics, thankfully handled well:

child abuse, through the perspective of a child more often than not, sometimes through the perspective of the abuser

mentions of csa and pedophilia

genocide (especially the third book)
